Wreck’s words after an intense workout:

Before the game there was too much glare from media like TODAY and S League.com which I find a bit too destabilizing. They ought to let our opposition as well as the host, the Young Lions to share the spotlight a little.
A game of high intensity in a pressure cooker known as Jalan Besar Stadium which I think I lost close to 5 pounds, from the profuse perspiration as the systole and diastole in crazy frequency for my heart.
In a game we dominate in confident fashion with Indra orchestrating play up front, the 2 Canadians in full synchrony, Noh Rahman showing his pedigree in the middle and Hiro stout in defense.
As for Joey, he might have taken Fabian Barthez’s gloves as he took the “butterfingers” persona in a match he seems terribly jittery. (not doing his SEA Games chance much help with national coach Raddy keeping tabs of the development of the Young Lions).
While our attack were excellent with the team in great shape for once, 2 defensive mistakes saw the Young Lions putting 2 long range efforts beyond Joey’s goal.
26 seconds to concede a goal is yet another unwanted record we want for this season.
Zahid who committed the mistake for Eugene Luo’s stunning goal was the only down point of a splendid individual performance which saw him putting such a sumptous cross which Murphy obliged with the 2nd goal.
The 3 substitutes (Meng, Nor Azli and Farisal) did well to maintain the composure of the game, always fighting for balls they lost and despite 2 unfortunate bookings, they were crucial to play out the jittery last 10 minutes (+ 20 minutes of added time).
Novice referee Johan Johari who were incurring the wrath of the Dolphins fans whole evening provided the entertainment late in the game with an extensive delay when he got a cramp on his thigh and 4th official Sukhbir Singh had to finish the game for him.

Another 3 good points to lift us to 8th in the standings, 3 goals for the fans to relish and overall times are getting rosier in the Hougang camp.
Well done lads, have a good rest and keep the good work at Tampines Stadium coming Sunday!

  1. What happen to the defence? Broke by a goal from Afiq Yunos in the very first minute of the game. Keep on going like this and see what will happen when Sengkang meet those stronger teams.

Anyway congrats for the second victory.

    • Well it’s been a problem with our team when we tend to recede in the opening stages, giving our opponents too much respect and allow them to score early goals.

Despite Zahid’s horrendous miscalculation that leads to the 2nd goal, he had a great game and shouldn’t take it away from him.
Hiro is beginning to look better as a CB but Joey really need to regain his confidence

  2. Hiro has always been a CB since he came to the S League few years back, and we all know that he is a good CB. I don’t know what makes Jorg think that he can play as a defensive midfielder or any other position? Maybe he thinks that all players should be versatile. Then again can a horse plough the field? Can a goat guard your door?
