| A sore penalty miss by Mamadou Diallo (the same strike of the upright by Park Yo-Seb of Tampines last Friday) saw the Dolphins not netting a point though in truth it should be 3 the team to be aiming for.
The Japanese outfit certainly shown more hunger in the first 45 minutes and a decent delivery from the left saw Ichihara heading the winner as there had been signs of guard being letting down in the 18 yard box during setpieces. The second half tells a whole different story as the resolute Sengkang Punggol squad of late came out of the break, showing the tenacity and eagerness to find the back of Matsushita’s goal, sadly it did not transpire even from a fortituous penalty call. Losing this game almost saw the quest to 9th placing to fizz out but the gaffer Aide had to psyche his side for the remaining 4 games to see whether 10th place is still within touch. |

sengkang had lack of compusure in the middle and the back to keep the ball,be patient even when down to look for the space to attack into.no point playing long passes and also missplacing it wxpecting jordan and mamadou to do their magic..as for the vocal support from the sengkang supporters,as usual sitted with me were some regular s-league supporters and also sengkang fans shaking their head in dissaproval with me that the foul language used in the chants and also lack of respect for the opposing fans and supporters with families and kids around..
Dude. this is not a game where u leave your passion at the entrance of the stadium. You are seriously one of the reasons why our league has been on the decline. Sitting there all quiet with one or two “DEFENCE, DEFENCE” or “WE WANT GOAL”. LEARN to support your club… if the vulgarities offends u that bloody much, go home and watch it on telly with the mute button on.
Not our day….
A check on balestier website saw the dolphins top the table with the most number of fouls,a massive 92 yellow cards..but the good thing is we have gotten only 2 red(the least among)the boys need to keep their cool well..
Nice info there from Balestier Khalsa’s webpage, if you can see from the blog’s sidebar you can see how the cards had spread among the players.
Shahir, Nor Azli and Faizal are culpable for a big chunk of the card counts

How in the world does Diallo have 7 yellows? He doesnt seem to be dirty or reckless in his tackles..

Much as I’d like to see us being the team standing out as the fair team, the number of yellow cards do (sort of) indicate that the lads in our team go in to every match fighting for the ball and not giving up. Plus, it just goes to show we are not a dirty team (as shown by the lack of red cards!)
And I sure hope Aide and the management starts to build on this recent momentum into the next season, and build the team around a core of important players – what I call the “spine”. E.g. Fadhil, Kenji-Ratna, Moshi, Diallo = the spine of our team. As long as our players take on the strength of self-belief, I truly believe Sengkang Punggol can transform itself towards title contenders, or at least playing the role Gombak is playing this season – the team tough to take 3 points off.

Thanks dude, will look forward to it. Just my two-cents only though, but hope the presence of SPFC vocal fans can help the management and sponsors be convinced that SPFC is serious about giving the other teams the jitters when they play us: in turn, more money can only mean better and more committed players (though sometimes, I think that too much money dilutes the passion of a player).

in senkang maybe talking big only,it is not the way of rung a football club the management,dont knw anything abt foooty and the coaches just there to listen.the local players not up to the level very poor, the iranian on holliday i quest, the korean has home sick, dreaming, kenji slow motion like matrix movie star.oh god keep talking big everyday good luck for the coming saeson. sometime i dont want to talk bt it is a team i have been supporting all my time 10year nw,bt this is the worst year. terrible

In fact, Aide has mentioned one fact recently: thus far for all seasons, Sengkang Punggol has yet to amass more than 25 points for any seasons yet. And now, we’re on 24 with 4 games to go, with a good squad momentum going into the final stretch.
And a rather encouraging fan base to will them on (and I’m not referring only to my friends and I).
To the naysayers and critics who masquerade as SPFC fans, I’ll only say it once again: if you don’t have the courage to keep the faith in Aide and his lads, and continue to hide behind internet anonymity to snipe at them and their loyal fans, kindly piss off. Your insignificant words and actions have no effect on our heroes on the field, nor on the fans who stand up and be counted, who do whatever it takes to help SPFC step up to the next level, unlike dumbasses who snipe at fellow fans and even do shite to undermine the good work of our fantastic coach Aide.
And I encourage fellow like-minded Dolphins fans to ignore these bone-headed scouse-thief-like idiots like how a lamp ignore the flies around it. We will continue to shine and do our part to encourage the lads on the field to step up to that next level.
Take heart fellow Sengkang-Punggol fans, as long as we build on this encouraging recent showing and build on the present squad off-season, stand United for our Dolphins and we’ll an exciting coming season to look forward to!
